Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
A type of health insurance plan that gives you the freedom to see any doctor or specialist without a referral. PPOs have a network of preferred providers that offer lower rates, but you can go out-of-network at a higher cost. Premiums and deductibles are typically higher than HMO plans.
