Endorsement

A written amendment to your insurance policy that changes its terms or coverage. Endorsements can add, remove, or modify coverage. In property and auto insurance the term endorsement is used instead of rider, but the concept is the same.

Real-World Example

An endorsement was added to the homeowners policy to cover expensive jewelry that exceeded the standard personal property limit.
